Palm Sunday and Animal Chiropractic

I’m reminded today that it’s Palm Sunday.
What does that mean?
It’s the day that Jesus walked into Jerusalem—a place where he would ultimately be challenged, judged, and put to death. He walked into what was, in many ways, enemy territory. And yet, people lined his path, laying palms on the ground in front of him as he rode in.
That act was a sign of reverence.
People weren’t just aware of him—they believed in what he was teaching. He helped them see themselves differently. He helped them feel stronger, more empowered, and less controlled by the systems around them.
This isn’t really about religion.
This is about your animal chiropractic practice.
What Sets You Apart?
One of the most common concerns we hear from animal chiropractors is this:
There are people in their area who are not trained, charging very little, and still getting a lot of clients. It leads to the question:
How do I compete with that?
But here’s the reality:
People were not going to Jesus because he was cheaper. They were not going because he was easier.
They were going because he was solving a problem they felt deeply.
He offered something different—something that helped them move beyond the forces that were holding them down.
The Role of Difference
One thing that is often overlooked is that Easter—not Christmas—is the central event that set Christianity apart.
It represented a shift. A breaking away from existing systems and ideas that required people to “pay their way” or conform in order to belong.
It challenged the belief that access to healing, connection, or purpose had to come through external systems of control.
That’s what made it different.
And in your practice, the same principle applies.
Competing Systems of Thought
In animal chiropractic, you are not just working alongside other practitioners—you are working alongside entirely different ways of thinking.
For example:
Veterinary medicine often operates within a diagnosis-based framework
Even chiropractors can fall into the pattern of asking, “How do I adjust this animal with this diagnosis?”
But that diagnosis is not part of chiropractic.
It belongs to a different system.
A different language.
A different way of understanding the body.
Your Role as a Practitioner
So the question becomes:
What are you doing in your practice that helps people move out of that system and into a chiropractic mindset?
Where are you meeting them where they are?
How are you guiding them toward a different understanding?
What are you showing them that they cannot see anywhere else?
Because your value is not in competing within their system.
Your value is in offering an alternative.
Practical Application: Meeting People Where They Are
Consider how this works in a real-world setting.
When working with a herd of cattle, we don’t ask producers to create a separate event just for chiropractic. That would feel like a disruption—an unnecessary use of time.
Instead, we align with what they are already doing:
When cattle are already being corralled
When animals are already being handled
We introduce chiropractic into that existing workflow.
At first, they may not fully understand it.
But then they begin to see results:
More calves on the ground
Easier calving
Healthier animals
And once they see those outcomes, their perspective begins to shift.
Demonstrating, Not Debating
Another practical step:
Instead of only following standard newborn processing protocols, consider adding a chiropractic adjustment.
Observe the difference.
Compare outcomes.
When people can see results directly, they begin to recognize that they don’t have to rely entirely on the products and interventions they’ve always been told are necessary.
They begin to feel empowered.
Freedom as the Outcome
At its core, what you are offering is not just a service.
You are offering a different way of thinking—one that reduces dependency and increases understanding.
In the same way that people were drawn to a message that freed them from having to “buy their way in,” your clients are drawn to outcomes that reduce reliance on external inputs and restore trust in function.
A Final Reflection
Palm Sunday is a reminder of what it means to stand apart.
Not by being louder. Not by being cheaper.
But by offering something that genuinely changes how people see and experience the world.
So ask yourself:
What are you doing in your practice that truly sets you apart?
And more importantly:
Are you clearly showing your clients the difference?
